Spring update
Hi All!
I am so glad to see the weather turning here finally! I'm sure there are a lot of stories to be told of about the 2025-26 winter. For us here in central Illinois the cold and amount of snow reminded me of my childhood...lots of snow and bitter cold temps. The temprature dipped below zero and held long enough that our septic tank laterals froze! If that wasn't bad enough, I had the septic tank pumped the next day, thinking it would give us some time for things to thaw but the line to the tank froze in that short of time. Anyway, long story short and lots of trips to the gas station later, things are working as should be, Thank God!
FYI, I may do a blog in the future telling the easiest method to take a shower in a 5 gallon bucket. Let me know if that draws any interest.
On to business. I have found a new discount feature on Fine Art America (they handle my prints). So I have a discount code you can use to get 20% off of my markup on printed merchandise. The code is GNJUXK. The discount code is good from 03/19/2026 - 04/15/2026. I have not used this feature before, let me know if you have any issues...it should be good for every product offered and unlimited quantity!
I should mention if you don't know, on my website landing page if you hold the cursor over 'works', 'prints' will drop down and you just click on it and it will take you to my FAA print store. The easiest way to navigate the site is to click on 'All' directly under the Collections category. With all of the said, I'm not fond of the appearance of the page that opens.... https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/1-david-hinds is much more user friendly. (Now that I have probably driven you mad.lol)
Lastly, I am sad to say that Perspectives Art Gallery and Elkart Station have both closed. I know that the owners struggled with the difficult descision to do so and I do wish them well in their next chapter of life.
On a brighter note, I will give a tease as to something I have been busy working on. I am going to open at my home for local, on site sales of original artwork. I have my signs mostly painted and a bit of work done, but more coming. My plan is to set the sign out on days I can set up to paint outdoors or on my long front screened porch. So if you see the sign, I'm up for a visit if you're in the neighborhood. As most of you know I am in Springfield, IL. I will share the exact address and more details as we get closer to it actually happening (thinking sometime in April).
Thats all for now, you all have a blessed spring!
David
